Milton Keynes Area Grading Report

The MK area gradings were held on Sunday November 16th with students from all MK area clubs participating. The standards were high and students had worked hard to get to this grading.

We had a great turn out from Green Park school club, with students grading for blue, red, orange and yellow belts. It was good to meet the parents and for them to see their child(ren) in the CFTS environment, which enhances the feeling of the karate community.

Two students double graded, one from yellow to purple and the other from red to yellow. Such noticeable performances deserved such attention and both are a credit to the club and great role models for young and older alike.

The final grading group of purple/white belts upwards was large, but all showed great spirit and determination in all areas of the grading. Kihon, Kata and Kumite were all performed to a very good standard.

Some images of the grading day are also shown below.

Trophies were awarded after the grading (in the club dojos), the winners were as follows;

·         Newton Longville – Andrew & Elliott R

·         Newton Longville School – Poppy S

·         Bletchley – Melissa L

·         Newport Pagnell – Samuel F

·         Green Park School – Jacob S

Many thanks to the dan grades who attended and assisted with warm-up, practice sessions, administration and judging.

Senseis Simon & Pam McMahon
