(Updated) Kyu Gradings - 16th/17th September 2023

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

Milton Keynes Area

By comparison with other gradings this was a quiet one with only about 40 students grading, but the standards were again very high and everyone was successful in their endeavours. It was run in three groups, blues & reds, then orange & yellows, then green belts and above.

Our thanks go out to the various dan grades that assisted with the administration, warm ups, practice sessions and kumite.

Congratulations to all those that graded.

Bedford Area Grading

Saturday 16th September saw the next round of kyu gradings held in the Bedford area. We were back at Lincroft Academy following exam season. Compared to earlier gradings in the year it was somewhat smaller but the spirit generated by those in attendance would have you thinking otherwise!

After being split into small groups for kihon and kumite training we came back together to run through kata before the trophy presentations were made by Sensei Young and Sensei Saunders.

The standard of the grading overall was very high and it was pleasing to see students have been working on feedback from previous gradings. A massive well done to those who successfully passed their grading and special congratulations to those who graded for 1st and 2nd kyu.

Thank you to the Dan grades in attendance for their assistance with warm ups, teaching groups and marking papers.

If you didn’t grade this time around don’t worry, December's grading is only 10 weeks away…
