I first started karate at the Bedford Dojo of TASK under sensei Van Weenan in July of 1991 at the age of 6. I continued training there until sept 99, by which time I had attained 1st kyu.

In Sept 1999 I moved to train with Sensei Kidby at CFTS. I have continued to train here since. In March 2001 I was awarded Shodan. This was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done, as it took so much time and a great deal of hard work to accomplish. Since gaining Shodan I have felt that many new doors have opened to me.

I am still training hard but only on a limited bases now as I am away for long periods of time at university. When I finish my education I would like to take karate more seriously. I would like to compete in a few more competitions (both at freestyle and kata).

I am enjoying my karate now more then ever and feel that I am starting to make some progress. I enjoy my kata, with my favourite being Enpi.

I hope to continue training as long as I can, so that I can experience more of what karate has to offer and maybe one day teach my own club.
