Saturday 15th November saw the final round of kyu gradings for Bedford. We ran it slightly
differently to previous gradings with beginners coming early and doing their grading before the
blue belts and above came for theirs.
The beginners did very well for their first grading which was watched by nervous parents alike.
After receiving their result, they were invited to stay and watch the pre-grading class and other
gradings.
We had some small group work with various Dan grades taking groups their respective kihon
and kumite before joining back together and running through kata up to Jitte. This was followed
by the club trophy presentations:
Adam - Brickhill
George - Kempston
Piper - Riseley
A quick change by the Dan grades and the gradings commenced, working our way through the
grades across a kihon table, kumite table, kata table and senior grade table. There was a very
high standard across the board, particularly those attempting various levels of brown belt.
On the day we held a ruck shop with the proceeds going to Kerch Hospice. The total amount
raised currently stands at just over £120!
As always, a massive thank you to the black belts for their assistance on the day and in
advance of the grading, the senior kyu grades who assisted in kumite and parents/families for
their support of the grading and our charity efforts.
